The Ride Home and Wrap Up (coming soon)

Day 12: Portland, ME (100 miles)

Today was a free, fun day in Maine, to spend any way we wished.  We caught up on e-mail, made a few business calls, and then headed to the local dealership, Big Moose Harley Davidson, for supplies.  We then rode north to Boothbay Harbor with many other riders to enjoy the Maine Coast.  The lakes on the ride up and the coast itself once we arrived did not disappoint.  After an enjoyable, relaxing ride, we met friends, Larry and Jean, from Florida, and rode to Cape Elizabeth for dinner at a local favorite called the Lobster Shack (founded 1920).  Larry and Jean were celebrating their anniversary and lobster was in order. The coast of Cape Elizabeth was beautiful and rugged, and looked great as the fog rolled in to the sound of the fog horn nearby.  After t-shirt weather all day, the ride home in 58 degree weather was rather refreshing.  Tomorrow could be chilly!

The view from anywhere in Boothbay Harbor was beautiful.

Yes, they were as good as they looked!

As the fog began to roll in, it was time to hit the road and leave Cape Elizabeth.
