The Ride Home and Wrap Up (coming soon)

Day 15: Corning, NY to Cleveland, OH (340 miles)

Today was an amazing adventure.  Instead of taking the suggested 265 mile route from Corning to Cleveland, we headed out with Tom, Debbie, Dave and Anita to Niagara Falls!  It was a long day, but well worth the effort.  Bill led us to Buffalo, New York on as many scenic back roads he could find where we crossed over to Canada to visit the falls from the Canadian side.  Pictures cannot capture the magnitude of Niagara Falls.  We parked the bikes and played the role of tourists and boarded one of the Maid of the Mist boat tours and got as close to the falls as possible.  The six of us had a blast and got soaked!  Before jumping on the freeway for the ride to Cleveland, we took scenic Route 5 that hugged Lake Erie for about an hour.  The views were beautiful.  Eighty-five miles out of Cleveland, between Erie and the state line, we found ourselves in a freak thunderstorm.  We suited up under a freeway overpass, with a couple other riders, and then headed out into the worst of it.  It didn’t last long but it did make for a nerve-racking and wet half hour.  We made it to the South East Harley Davidson dealership just minutes before closing, tired but happy.  It was a long day, but a great one!
