Day 16: Cleveland, OH to Lansing, IL (335 miles)
 
Well, we knew this day was coming . . . a freeway day.  We left the beautiful back roads of previous days and had little choice but to make a freeway run from Cleveland to Elkhart, Indiana, where the dealership stop was located.  We made a scenic trip through Sturgis, Michigan (no, not THE Sturgis) to pick up that state, but other than that, we stuck to the fast lane.  We did have gorgeous weather all day which was quite a surprise to us as the weather channel assured us we were riding right into a storm front.  So, even though we had to give up the back roads, we were thrilled to have such great weather with only a little wind to battle.  We pushed past Elkhart and road an additional 90 miles to Lansing, IL to get a head start on the next day’s ride into Wisconsin.
