The
Archimedes Helical Brush Conveyor, manufactured
by CSIC (Feeder Systems), solves many transport
problems found in the manufacturing, assembly and
packaging industries for a low initial investment
and at a low operating cost.
The
Archimedes hopper was developed for the handling
of corks for the wine industry, but can be used
for many other objects. The heart of the efficient
Archimedes is the soft, flexible brush screw revolving
inside a clear plastic cylinder. Nylon bristles
carefully push products or components to delicate
for big, expensive pneumatic or bucket conveyor
or hopper systems.
In
addition to the vertical transport conveyor, the
system has the options of conveying products horizontal
along with being able to lower objects from an overhead
storage area. The Archimedes conveyor system requires
a minimum of floor space as compared to typical
belt-elevator type hoppers.
For
the wine industry an optional vacuum cleaning system
may be installed to control dust and debris. Conveying
almost any kind of cork produces some dust, particulate
and debris. In most cases, removal of this foreign
matter results in a smooth running, efficient production
line.
