In
1947, the founder of Automation Devices, Inc., Floyd E. Smith,
elevated his dream to a realization and gave industry the
product that would give rise to the fulfillment of automation
requirements for decades to come. For over a half a century,
the orienting and conveying of parts has been at the very
core of Automation Devices' (ADI's) existence. In 1966, Automation
Devices moved its operations to the 20-acre suburban site
in Fairview, PA we still occupy today. Although our internal
organization has seen many changes over the years, our current
operation centers around two main divisions:
Our
VFC Division draws from its stock of over 500 cast aluminum
bowl patterns in over 300 basic designs and marries those
bowls to one of twelve different bowl drivers (Base Units).
This un-tooled equipment forms the basic building blocks on
which our customers can add Amplitude Controllers, Side Delivery
or Pan Feeder Hoppers, Inline Feeders, Orienting Rolls, Sound
Enclosures, etc., to produce tooled parts feeding systems
- systems our customers can purchase complete or build in
their own plants.
