Day 10: Reno, NV to Klamath Falls, OR (370 miles)
Leaving Reno in the brisk morning hours we headed through
the Lassen National Forest, the most aromatic stretch of
road we've taken yet. The Ponderosa Pines and wild flowers
were almost overwhelming. We spent nearly two hours in the
Lassen Volcanic National Park riding the windy roads and
taking pictures. The morning ride offered perfect temperatures
but once we left the mountain heading toward Redding we
encountered a blast furnace
and experienced our first truly extended hot day.
