Day 6: Durango, CO to Moab, UT (400 miles)
Today's views were the best so far, and that is saying a lot since the other days have been fabulous. We began the day with a ride by the infamous Shiprock and then to Four Corners Monument run by the Navajo Indians. It is the only place in the United States where four states intersect at one point- Arizona, New Mexico, Utah and Colorado. Then we headed to Monument Valley - where more movies have been made than you can imagine. Remember Stagecoach with John Wayne? After Monument Valley we headed out to Gooseneck State Park where we opened our coolers and had a picnic lunch
overlooking a "classic meander" where the river flows a total of seven miles to go one mile with more switchbacks than you've ever seen. We then took a beautiful ride into Moab where we were treated to a party and ride-in bike show at the local Moab Brewery complete with the town turning out to greet us.

Bill with Shiprock in the distance . . .Shiprock is impressive close up.

Entering Monument Valley - wish there were more pictures but the battery went dead on the camera.

Gooseneck -thousands of feet below where we sat and enjoyed lunch.
