Day 7: Moab, UT to Ely, NV (430 miles)
Whew, what a long but fun day! We started at 7:00am in the Arches National Park in Utah. Pictures just can't do the arches justice, but we tried. Two and a half hours later we left the park and headed to Ely, NV via Highway 50, dubbed the Loneliest Road in America. This road, which parallels the Pony Express Route, is as desolate as you can imagine. That is why the Governor of Nevada will be presenting all of us with personalized "I Survived Highway 50" certificates at tomorrow night's Highway 50 Survivors Party in Reno, NV.

Inside Arches National Park at sunrise and early morning.

Tom and Debby Wright (new bike "without nails") and travelling companions taking a break at the roadside in Arches National Park.

At a roadside break we found ourselves smack dab in the middle of Outlaw Country where Butch Cassidy, the Wild Bunch, and other characters took refuge. How anyone survived in this neck of the woods is anyone's guess.
